Contrary to the low-key kick-off last year with turbaned models lined up, this year’s India Fashion Week had a provocative feel to it that set pace to the entire event. With much of the international trends following in, India Fashion Week was also about sheer clothing line, jeweled accessories and dresses, classic feel of the vintage style to the complete retro 80’s look.

The colors ruffled on the catwalk with perfectly merged vibrant hues with subtle shades in perfect combo of the east and the west, providing a complete fashion guide of clothes, bags, accessories, hairdos and shoes. The designers excellently using their freedom of choice, displayed large variety of fabrics and textures with marvelous blend of jewels, colors, cuts and styles. Also, some of the celebrities walking the ramp endorsing few brands, give all the more delight in watching the India Fashion Week.
The color shades, patterns, inspirations and clothing constructions were designed to enthrall the audience and they did no bad in doing so. From local customers to the clients overseas, India Fashion Week has gained a lot of popularity since few years.
Summer in India also got more revealing by introducing sheer, see thru clothing lines using the blazing sun as an excuse to show yourself off and make you feel cool yet fashionable. Say Hi to the translucent, flowing feminine clothing such as satin, chiffon, net and georgette.
India Fashion Week, like MFW and PFW, did not restrict those glitters and stones to just jewelry and accessories, instead bejeweled clothes were introduced along with modern and bolder trims like pearls, beads, threads etc. the idea behind these jewels and crystals is to altogether provide an exotic look to out apparel.
The retro 80’s are back in style, giving a vintage yet romantic feel to your clothes. Bold colors in florescent and bright yellows and red were also a thing for this season’s Fashion Week. Similarly mixing a palette of colors to create pretty tie-and-dyes never goes out of fashion.
Kurtis, a must have for Indian women, were given a more classy and trendier look by using embroidery, fancy embellishments, fringes and flares with outrageous sleeves and cuts.
